NATURE TRAILS

“ FASCINATION OF THE AVAKAS GORGE”
( Only from Pafos )

Get to know the Flora & Fauna, birds, geology and orchids of the area.

Nature Trail lovers will enjoy today the Gorge , which is a legally protected area and can be visited only in organized groups led by a local guide. This deep ravine has steep craggy banks, a dozen or so meters high and the river Avgas runs through the base of it. You will come along rugged scenery, sandy coves, clear water and hill sides covered with bushes and plants.

NATURE TRAIL “ ATALANTE”
( From Pafos or Limassol )

ATALANTE ( Round way ), Nature Trail 12km. Starts at Troodos Resort!

• Difficulty: Average Degree of difficulty
• Duration: about 2 ½ hours.
• Length: 12 km

The trail nearly completes a circuit of Mount Olympos. You will be at 1700 – 1750 m high. On the path you will see lots of Pinus Nigra (Pine Trees). The oldest one is 800 years old.

• Enjoy the breathtaking view from up there. You can see the city of Limassol and Pafos.

NATURE TRAIL “ARTEMIS” ( TROODOS )

This path is into the Troodos Region.

• Length: 7km long
• Duration: around 2 ½ hours.
• Difficulty: Easy Trail, suitable for all ages and fitness level

Artemis executes a complete loop of Khionistra summit at a higher contour.

We begin our trail 1850m high. Very interesting are the Pinus Nigra (Pine trees) and the Flora and Geology of the area.
In the area there are also ruins from a small castle, dating back to the 156th century A.D, when the Venetians were trying to protect themselves from the Othomans.
Cyprus is a small island with a long history and a lot of different geological places.
Unique plants grow in Cyprus, such as vimbrella, looking pines (Pinus Nigra), strawberry trees, oak trees, local Lebanese cedars.

NATURE TRAIL “CALEDONIAN FALLS” ( TROODOS )

We drive up to 1600m high.

• Duration: The trail takes up to 1 ½ hours.
• Length: 3 km
• Difficulty: High degree of difficulty. Suitable for adults in very good physical level. Unsuitable for young and children.

Beginning at 1600m and ending at 1200m. On this path we will cross more than once, the “cold river” ( Kryos Potamos ) as it is known! The path ends at a trout farm and in the restaurant “Psilodentro” where you can enjoy one if you like!
In the afternoon, visit the village of Lania, famous for its painter!

NATURE TRAIL “AKAMAS”

In Latchi village we take the boat until Akamas peninsula.

In Akamas, we begin with our Nature Trail. We walk along the coast for about 2 hours. The path ends at the Baths of Aphrodite. In legend the goddess retired here to bath before and after entertaining assorted lovers.
Akamas is the wildest region of Cyprus practically uninhabited. Its rich flora and fauna, the diverse geological features, the beautiful coastline and the legends and myths associated with this fascinating country, make it a paradise for ramblers and nature lovers.
